Langue de la session: Français (La traduction en anglais sera décidée prochainement)
Session Description:
This session, jointly organised by Interpeace and ISEPS, aims to explore and strengthen the contribution of young people to peacebuilding in a variety of contexts, including the Sahel and East Africa, with a focus on intergenerational co-leadership and trust-building. Through a series of interactive activities, participants will have the opportunity to analyse successful local initiatives in political, inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue, the fight against misinformation and electoral violence, and intergenerational co-leadership in peace and security efforts. The session will highlight experiences, innovative ideas and approaches that have enabled young people to play a central role in peace-building. It will also examine the challenges encountered and strategies for mitigating these challenges. Discussions will provide an opportunity to share perspectives from Burundi and Burkina Faso, while inviting contributions from participants from other geographical areas through ‘fishbowl’ discussions. The session will be conducted in French, giving the audience plenty of opportunity to interact directly with the speakers and take part in the discussions. It will also encourage collective reflection on the importance of involving young people in peace, security, governance and reconciliation initiatives.
