KPAC21 'Closing Plenary' with KPSRL Advisory Committee, Teresa Mugadza, Lex Gerts & Megan Price

The closing plenary included an address by the KPSRL Advisory Committee and also a special word by Teresa Mugadza, International Development Law Organization's Kenya Country manager and Lex Gerts, Deputy Director of the Stabilization and Humanitarian Affairs Department.
Teresa Mugadza works to promote access to justice, including the promotion of innovative approaches to equality and equal access to legal recourse as well as addressing SGBV, in line with SDG 16 and SDG 5. This work involves working with local and national justice actors across the formal justice chain, as well as interacting with key actors within civil society such the law society, women lawyers associations and informal justice actors. She is currently IDLO’s Kenya country manager. Her career includes senior management leadership in national and international civil society, the civil service and in private institutions, including at Oxfam in Zimbabwe and in Washington D.C. Teresa is a is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law School, a Common Purpose CSC Fellow (2017-2018), Women’s Leadership and Public Policy Fellowship/LAWA Fellow (2002-2003).
Lex Gerts is deputy director of the Stabilization and Humanitarian Affairs Department. Prior to his current position, he was seconded to the World Bank (Fragility, Conflict and Violence Group) and was Private Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. Other postings include the Dutch Embassy in Sarajevo and the Permanent Representation to the UN in New York.
